MOCHILLA (re)premiere of SOUL POWER

Its been a month since the tremendous success of Still Bill the first of our monthly screening series at the Downtown Independent. So in the search for “obscure and rarely seen music films” we decided to go even bigger this month. This film opened in Los Angeles for two days in July. Most of us missed it.

Well thanks to Sony Pictures Classics we are (re)Premiering an amazing film, can you say SOUL POWER. All I’m sayin is James Brown in Africa!

The other performances are outrageous also including Celia Cruz, B.B. King, Miriam Makeba, the Spinners and of course Bill Withers among others. If you have seen “When We Were Kings” you’ll already know the story, but this is the concert film. Its one of the best Ive ever seen. Don’t miss this opportunity to see it big and loud, DVD just ain’t the same.

We will have special guests from the film and maybe a surprise performance or two….

Don’t sleep.
